Trip Summary

Day
1 - 2

Upon arrival at Colombo Airport, transfer into the heart of the city with your personal chauffeur-guide. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and becoming acclimatized to the heat and the leisurely speed of life in Sri Lanka.

Day
2 - 4

Take a seaplane transfer over the island and down to the south-east coast for your first beach stay. Not only is this the fastest way to travel – the incredible aerial views will be a highlight of your trip. Your accommodation is a luxury boutique hotel that is flanked by the ocean on one side and Yala National Park on the other. From this convenient and covetable base, go on twice-daily private guided drives through the park in search of Sri Lanka’s exotic wildlife. Highlights include the elusive leopard and sloth bears.

Day
4 - 8

Wind along the south coast to Tangalle. This chilled-out town is revered for having some of the most spectacular beaches in Sri Lanka and an enchanting atmosphere to boot. Indulge in four days of total beach relaxation with plenty of sunbathing and serene strolls along the sand. Nearby is the livelier Mirissa Bay where there is the opportunity for water-sports and whale watching in season.

Day
8 - 10

Your final stop is a very special destination in the south-west corner of the island. Galle is one of Sri Lanka’s most important ports, part of the Silk Route and a key naval base for the Portuguese, Dutch, and British colonial powers. Fronted by an intimidating 17-century fort, Galle is a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its variety of well-maintained heritage architecture. Your accommodation is within the walls of the fort and is over 300 years old. Just outside of the fort walls are yet more glorious beaches, as well as idyllic countryside that is enchanting to explore by bike.
