Weligama, which is found around an hour’s drive from Galle, is well-known for its brilliant surfing beach, so try your hand and take lessons with a local instructor. You can also go wind-surfing, sailing, deep sea fishing and whale watching. Alternatively, head to nearby Mirissa Bay for the day, a stunning beach which is a popular tourist destination and provides many things for travelers to do, particularly water-sports.
