Samudra Beach House is a beach villa located 20 minutes away from Galle Fort. They have two expansive, chic and beautifully-furnished rooms to choose from, although a third room can be arranged on request. More suited to families with older kids.

Sergeant House is a five-bedroom boutique villa that was built in the 1800s and its architecture incorporates both Dutch and Portuguese influences. It can be rented per room or as a whole. Children are welcome, but only those over the age of 10 are advised to visit.

Sisindu C can only be booked in its entirety, accommodating four people in spacious rooms – although more beds can be added as necessary. It is certainly family-friendly and has plenty of kids’ activities as well.
This six-bedroom villa is located in the midst of an eight acre tea estate and is utterly splendid and rejuvenating. It has 360 degree views, six en-suite bedrooms and is furnished with antiques and plush modern additions. Children of all ages are welcome.
Sleeping 8 people, 25 Rampart Street comes with four en-suite bedrooms. Great for families, though if you’re booking it in its entirety then you must stay for a minimum of two nights. This early 19th century offers colonial grandeur and modern comforts.

A contemporary beach villa in Balapitiya
This three-bedroom villa is perched atop a hill, offering stupendous views. It has a 50ft infinity pool, an ambalama and plenty of sunbeds so everyone can do a spot of sunbathing. Six people can comfortably stay here, and children of all ages are welcome.

This five-bedroom family house infuses classic with contemporary and is comprised of five bedrooms – four doubles and a twin, all fitted for A/C and a range of modern amenities. Victoria Villa cannot be booked by the room – only as an entire villa.
Villa Serendipity is found on the borders of Koggala Lake, and has four intriguingly-themed A/C rooms which are opulent, sophisticated and have a choice of bedding in cotton or silk. It is child-friendly, with inter-connecting rooms available for families.
