Buckingham Place is an escape in every sense of the word. Refreshing for its completely off-the-beaten track location to the east of Tangalle, this 11-bedroom boutique hotel is a sanctuary. Nestled atop a partly-landscaped coastal headland overlooking the Rekawa Lagoon, the stresses and strains of everyday life simply melt away, forcing you to unwind effortlessly.
Buckingham Place was named not after a certain royal palace but, quite accidently, after the owner Nick Buckingham who fell in love with this little-known corner of the world. Nick has painstakingly created a contemporary property that reflects the tropics, fuses with its stunning surroundings and of course, respects the expectations of its comfort-seeking, nature-loving guests.
Buckingham Place offers accommodation in 11 spacious bedrooms and suites which are divided into Balcony Double Bedrooms, Extra Large Double Bedrooms, Extra Large Suites, the Honeymoon Suite and Garden Suites.

Cuisine
Buckingham Place’s open-sided restaurant and bar boasts an eclectic daily-changing menu with an emphasis on wholesome, beautifully presented gourmet cuisine that you can enjoy whenever you wish. The landscaped garden that surrounds it and weaves between the bedrooms secretes a plunge pool for cooling dips, and a little terrace for relaxing or dining. They have a fully stocked bar, with plenty of international labels on display. If you don’t feel like wandering to the restaurant to eat, the staff will bring a ‘picnic’ menu right to your room. There are no set mealtimes so you can eat whenever you like, which is great news for late risers!
Just for the kids
This is a family friendly boutique hotel with a pool. Children can have fun swimming and body-boarding on the beach and there are many day trips to take, including a visit to the Turtle Conservation Center in Rekawa.
