Hidden deep in the buffer zone jungles of the Yala National Park, Ceylon Wild Safaris offers luxe, safari-style tents. The campsite is just 40 minutes from the Katagamuwa entrance. Each tent is smartly-equipped to provide comfort in the midst of the wilderness. Also, Ceylon Wild Safaris is a camp with true eco-credentials. The pace is slow here and this is one of the ideal places for stepping out of the rat race and enjoying the wonders of the wild. Go on game drives to witness wild animals including leopards in their natural element.

Each tent is enclosed in a private space bordered by thatched coconut palms. Slightly elevated from ground level, the functionally decorated tents boast ample space. Each tent can accommodate up to two double beds and comes furnished with a small dressing table, table, wardrobe and clothes rack. The adjoining bathroom is equipped with twin vanities and shower space and opens out to the outdoor platform facing the back of the tent. Each tent comes with a private plunge pool.

The dining hut, a simple open area covered with thatched roof, is located towards the middle of the campsite. Ceylon Wild Safaris serves up Sri Lankan cuisine and sources all ingredients from the shops in the closet town.

As a conservation-based operation, Ceylon Wild Safaris takes great care to instill the importance of protecting nature into every client and employee. Ceylon Wild Safaris is entirely solar-powered, has a no-plastic bottle policy at the camp and promotes waste separation. They are keen to hear back from clients on their sustainability initiatives and what can be done to improve them.
Just for the kids
Ceylon Wild Safaris is remote enough to be romantic and family-friendly enough to bring the kids. Cots are available on request.
