Escape everyone and everything at Haldummulla Estate Bungalow, a small retreat set amidst an organic 50-acre tea estate in a quiet corner of Sri Lanka’s south-eastern hills. The bungalow is designed in a traditional style with a wrap-around balcony and bay windows, and is simply furnished with touches of colonial charm such as the four-poster beds and claw-foot bathtubs. Accommodating just eight people in total and with a cosy shared living area and dining room, Haldummulla Estate Bungalow is a great retreat for active families who would relish relaxed living and their own space as they spend their days roaming the spectacular surrounding tea hills. The bungalow can also be booked by the room, and there is a private suite which works wonderfully for couples seeking a romantic getaway. As well as the wonderful walking opportunities, guests can visit a local tea factory, or investigate the hidden historical sites concealed within pine forest, or perhaps just curl up with a book on the veranda whilst listening to the chirping birds and watching monkeys capering through the trees.
