Lake Lodge Kandalama is an intimate, peaceful hotel in Dambulla which offers scenic views of Kandalama Lake, Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Mihintale’s sacred hills and Dambulla’s famous Golden Buddha. A haven for wildlife, this holiday retreat consists of twelve spacious rooms with a minimalist design set in wooded surroundings, each offering tranquility and seclusion. With an expansive terrace, sunlit swimming pool and breezy restaurant, as well as delicious food and attentive staff, it makes for a relaxed and welcoming holiday getaway.
Lake Lodge has 12 rooms in total: two suites, six deluxe and four superior rooms. Each bedroom at Lake Lodge is similar in design, with cool terrazzo floors, concrete-base double beds, writing desks and a dressing room, plus either a private furnished balcony or a terrace that overlooks the verdant jungle beyond. En-suite bathrooms are also finished in smooth grey cement and feature tropical waterfall showers.

A hand-picked fusion of European and Sri Lankan cuisine is featured on the menu. Choose your preferred breakfast, and take your pick for a delicious four-course dinner. For lunch, light meals such as sandwiches and soups are available, or traditional rice and curry if you wish. Dining times are entirely at your discretion. Heading out on a day trip? Just let the staff know and they will pack you a meal. Alcohol is not sold at Lake Lodge, so to avoid disappointment you should bring any preferred liquor or wine with you to the hotel where it will be suitably stored. Beer can be bought from the local liquor shops nearby as well as local spirits such as arrack. Soft drinks, fruit juices and water are sold at the hotel.
