Villas in Weligama
BackIn Sinhalese, Weligama translates as ‘sand town’, and is true to its name, home to a majestic bay and the beautiful golden beaches found all along the Sri Lanka’s south coast. If you get tired of walking along the spectacular bay, surfing the waves or lolling on the beach, you can go and see the iconic Sri Lankan stilt-fishermen that sit along the shore in the early morning, or visit the unusual structure in the town centre that was built in memory of King Kustaraja, who supposedly cured himself of leprosy by consuming lots of coconut water.
This beautiful and peaceful town, which sits in a prime position between Galle and Mirissa, is a popular haunt for tourists and there are a wide variety of accommodation options in the area. There are several villas in Weligama that we recommend to our clients – see below for more information.
