The stunning Era Beach sits beside a sandy sweep of beach, 15 minutes away from Galle. The timeless design with elements such as sculpted pillars, soaring ceilings and deep verandas, reflect the Dutch architecture. Minimal yet refined interiors are coupled with earthy colors which complement the natural materials that have been used in the hotel. Vibrant floral displays add to a bright and cheerful atmosphere, whilst carved steps lead to the saltwater swimming pool and sea through the garden. The pool is also flagged by a pair of identical pillared pavilions which house the living and dining areas.

Day or night, the Era Beach restaurant is great for an intimate dining experience. The cushioned rattan chairs and glass-topped tables furnish the veranda for a comfortable and elegant ambience. Breakfasts are a hearty affair with choices between continental English and Sri Lankan dishes. For lunch, you can opt for something light and easy such as salads, soups and so on although if you wish, you can request for the hotel’s full menu which lists a host of international cuisines. Dinner is robust and sumptuous with options like homemade gnocchi, traditional rice and curry, New Zealand lamb, and plenty of fresh seafood including lobster. Children too have a wide and varied selection of choices. Local and foreign liquor, as well as wine and beer are served at the bar.
