Sister property of Sisindu C, Sisindu T is a charming six-bedroom villa perched on a hill surrounded by an eight-acre tea estate in a rural village just 20 minutes from Galle Fort, and 15 minutes inland from the beautiful beaches of the south coast. With the Indian Ocean on the horizon, the villa enjoys a tranquil setting in amidst lush tropical foliage which is frequented by a range of exotic birds, including peacocks, and the occasional troupe of monkeys. Sisindu T, designed by Sri Lankan architect Sunela Jayawardene, has breath-taking views all around the property and blends beautifully into the natural surroundings. Interiors are stylishly decorated with Dutch-period antiques, colourful furnishings and local artwork.

There are 6 ensuite bedrooms, each furnished with king- or queen-sized four-poster beds, desk, chairs and fan, and complete with a private balcony or veranda. The food at Sisindu T is wonderful. The lunch menu features soups, salads and sandwiches, as well as other Western favourites such as fish and chips, beef burgers, quiche and puff pastry tarts, and – if you’re feeling hungry – Sri Lankan rice and curry. For dinner, choose between a range of starters and mains, including lots fresh seafood and meat which can be barbecued, grilled or roasted. All dishes can be adapted for children, or the chef can make special kids’ meals on request. The villa does not have a liquor licence, but the staff can purchase alcohol on your behalf. All groceries are purchased at cost price.
